Quotes and Estimates
Quotes and estimates are based on the information you provide.
Final pricing may change if the actual job is different than described, such as additional tasks, unexpected repairs, extra labor, special materials, or site conditions not disclosed.
If you send photos, we may use them to provide a better estimate, but photos may not show everything.
Scheduling and Arrival Times
Appointment times are estimates. Traffic, weather, supply delays, and earlier jobs may affect arrival.
If we need to reschedule due to safety, weather, illness, equipment issues, or material availability, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible.
If you cancel after we have already arrived or dispatched/traveled to the job site, a trip fee may apply. Any trip fee will be explained before charging it.
Deposits
Some jobs may require a deposit before scheduling or purchasing materials.
Deposit amounts (if required) will be communicated before work begins.
Deposits may be non-refundable if we have already purchased materials, reserved labor time, or turned away other work to hold your scheduled date.
If a deposit is refundable for a specific job, that will be stated in writing.
Change Orders (Changes to the Scope of Work)
Any changes requested after an estimate is provided—such as additional tasks, different materials, or expanded work—may change the price and/or schedule.
We may require approval (text, email, or written confirmation) before performing additional work that increases the price.
If you request changes during the job, the final invoice will reflect the agreed change(s).
Payment
Payment is due at the time service is completed unless agreed otherwise in writing.
We may accept cash, card, invoice, or other payment methods based on what we offer at the time.
If payment is not received when due, we may pause or stop work until payment is made (when applicable).
Late Payment Fees / Collections
Past due balances may be subject to late fees as allowed by law.
Unpaid balances may be referred to collections or pursued in court as permitted by law.
You agree to be responsible for reasonable costs of collection where allowed (including administrative costs and any court filing fees, if applicable).
Materials and Additional Costs
Unless included in writing, project pricing typically covers labor only.
Materials (hardware, paint, lumber, fixtures, disposal fees, etc.) may be billed separately unless included in the quote.
If unexpected issues are discovered (rot, hidden damage, code issues, incorrect prior installation, etc.), we will discuss options and any added cost before proceeding when possible.
Services We May Decline or Require Special Handling For
For safety and legal reasons, we may refuse service or require special handling for certain work or conditions, including but not limited to:
Hazardous chemicals, fuels, oils, or unknown substances
Mold, asbestos, lead paint, or other hazardous materials
Electrical, plumbing, roofing, gas, or structural work that requires a licensed contractor (where required by law)
Illegal, unsafe, or non-code-compliant requests
Jobs requiring permits or inspections when the customer refuses to obtain required approvals
Severe infestations, biohazards, or unsafe working environments
If you are unsure whether your project falls into any of these categories, ask us before scheduling.
Customer Responsibilities
Provide accurate contact information and job details
Ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area (including entry instructions, gate codes, parking access, etc.)
Tell us about stairs, tight spaces, fragile items, hidden utilities, or access limitations
Keep pets and children away from the work area for safety
Confirm you own the property/items involved or have permission for us to perform the work
Secure valuables, breakables, and personal items in or near the work area
Property Damage and Job Site Conditions
We work carefully, but handyman work can involve tools, ladders, heavy lifting, and tight spaces.
We are not responsible for damage caused by unsafe conditions, hidden defects, pre-existing damage, improper prior work, or issues that were not disclosed or visible at the time of estimate.
If any damage occurs that may be related to our work, you must report it to us immediately (and preferably before moving items or making repairs) so we can review the issue.
No Warranty
Unless required by law, Israel Rivera Handyman Services does not offer warranties or guarantees on work performed. Any manufacturer warranties on materials or products are provided by the manufacturer, not by us.
